The thermal conductivity, while lower than pure copper, remains sufficient for heat exchanger applications (approximately 50 W/m·K). Electrical conductivity is about 5% IACS, making it unsuitable for electrical applications but adequate for grounding systems.

The primary application of weldable cupronickel is in marine engineering, where it's used for piping systems, heat exchangers, and seawater handling equipment. Its resistance to biofouling and corrosion makes it ideal for these applications. In the chemical industry, the alloy finds use in processing equipment that handles corrosive media. Safety and Storage
While weldable cupronickel is generally safe to handle, precautions should be taken during fabrication. Storage conditions should prevent galvanic corrosion when in contact with other metals. The material should be kept dry and separated from more anodic metals like steel. Long-term outdoor storage is not recommended unless properly protected from environmental contaminants.
