Thermally stable elastomers are engineered polymer materials that maintain their elastic properties under prolonged exposure to high temperatures, typically between 150°C and 250°C. Unlike conventional rubbers that degrade or harden at elevated temperatures, these advanced materials combine the flexibility of elastomers with the thermal stability usually associated with thermoplastics or thermosets. Safety and Storage
While generally safe at room temperature, processing at high temperatures requires adequate ventilation as some formulations may release low levels of volatile compounds. Finished products are typically non-hazardous under normal use conditions. For storage, maintain original packaging and protect from direct sunlight. Shelf life is typically 2-3 years when stored properly. Avoid contact with strong oxidizing agents and certain solvents that may cause swelling. During machining or molding, use standard polymer processing safety equipment including thermal protection and particulate filtration where appropriate.
