TFT LCD (Thin-Film Transistor Liquid Crystal Display) is the dominant flat-panel display technology in modern electronics. Unlike passive matrix LCDs, TFT LCDs use an active matrix of thin-film transistors to control each pixel independently, enabling higher image quality and faster response times. The technology was first developed in the 1960s but became commercially viable in the 1990s. For cleaning, use only approved LCD cleaners and microfiber cloths - never alcohol or abrasive materials. Maintain proper ventilation as excessive heat can degrade liquid crystals. Storage should be in a dry environment at recommended temperatures to prevent moisture absorption in the polarizers.
