Polyvinylidene Fluoride (PVDF) is a semi-crystalline thermoplastic fluoropolymer with outstanding resistance to chemicals, UV radiation, and high temperatures. While PVDF is generally considered safe to handle, precautions should be taken against dust inhalation during processing. Molten PVDF can release small amounts of hydrogen fluoride, requiring adequate ventilation during high-temperature processing. Proper storage involves keeping the material in its original packaging in a dry environment below 30°C. PVDF should be protected from direct sunlight and stored away from strong oxidizing agents. Shelf life is typically several years when stored correctly.
