Overview
Omethoate is an organophosphate insecticide and acaricide that belongs to the phosphorothioate chemical family. It is the oxygen analog of dimethoate and shares similar pesticidal properties. Beyond tea, omethoate is used in cotton, fruits (especially citrus), vegetables, and ornamental plants. It controls a broad spectrum of sucking and chewing pests including aphids, thrips, whiteflies, and leaf miners. Application methods include foliar spraying and soil drenching.

Symptoms include headache, nausea, blurred vision, muscle twitching, and in severe cases, respiratory failure. Always use proper PPE including gloves, goggles, and respirators when handling. Store omethoate in original containers in a locked, well-ventilated area away from food, feed, and water sources. Keep away from heat and open flames.
