Liquid Penetrant Inspection (LPI), also known as dye penetrant inspection, is a widely used non-destructive testing (NDT) method for identifying surface defects in non-porous materials. The process involves applying a liquid penetrant, which seeps into flaws, followed by removal of excess penetrant and application of a developer to draw out the trapped penetant, making defects visible.
