Liquid Crystal Polymer (LCP) is a class of aromatic polyester thermoplastics that exhibit molecular alignment in both molten and solid states, resulting in exceptional mechanical and thermal properties. Developed in the 1980s, LCPs are engineered for high-performance applications where traditional plastics fail. They are synthesized through polycondensation of aromatic monomers, yielding rigid rod-like molecular structures. LCPs are categorized into Type I (high-temperature) and Type II (medium-temperature) based on their thermal resistance.
