High Rigidity LDPE is a specialized variant of low-density polyethylene, modified to exhibit greater stiffness while retaining the inherent flexibility and chemical resistance of standard LDPE. It is produced through copolymerization or additive incorporation, making it suitable for applications requiring structural durability. This material is favored in industries where traditional LDPE lacks sufficient load-bearing capacity. Physical and Chemical Properties
High Rigidity LDPE shares the basic hydrocarbon structure of conventional LDPE but features a higher crystallinity due to molecular modifications. This results in improved tensile strength (10–20 MPa) and a higher Young’s modulus compared to standard LDPE. Chemically, it resists acids, alkalis, and alcohols but is susceptible to prolonged exposure to UV radiation unless stabilized. Its thermal stability is comparable to LDPE, with a recommended continuous use temperature of up to 80°C.

While High Rigidity LDPE is non-toxic under normal conditions, processing at high temperatures may release volatile organic compounds (VOCs). Proper ventilation and personal protective equipment (PPE) are recommended during manufacturing. Storage should avoid temperatures above 50°C to prevent pellet clumping. Keep away from strong oxidizers and open flames. Bulk shipments typically use moisture-resistant packaging to prevent degradation.
