High Impact Polystyrene (HIPS) is a modified form of polystyrene enhanced with polybutadiene rubber to improve toughness. Bulk storage requires climate-controlled warehouses (<30°C/50% RH). Recycled HIPS must be tested for contaminants like PVC, which can degrade during reprocessing.
