FR4 is a grade designation for flame-retardant glass-reinforced epoxy laminate materials. The 'FR' stands for Flame Retardant, and '4' distinguishes it from other material grades. The material contains no asbestos or heavy metals. For storage, FR4 sheets should be stacked horizontally in dry conditions (relative humidity <70%) at 15-30°C. Copper-clad versions require protection from oxidation if stored for extended periods. Shelf life typically exceeds 12 months when properly stored.
