Expanded PTFE (ePTFE) gaskets are engineered from polytetrafluoroethylene through a proprietary expansion process, creating a microporous structure with unique sealing properties. Unlike traditional PTFE, the expanded version offers exceptional conformability to irregular surfaces while retaining chemical resistance. Normal handling requires no special PPE beyond gloves to prevent contamination. Storage should avoid direct sunlight to prevent UV degradation over extended periods. Rolls or sheets must lie flat to prevent permanent deformation; stacking height should not exceed 30 cm. For critical applications, shelf life is typically 5 years when stored at <40°C and <60% humidity. Avoid contact with sharp edges during transport to prevent tearing the porous structure.
