Overview
Expanded Polytetrafluoroethylene (ePTFE) is a fluoropolymer with a microporous structure created by stretching PTFE under controlled conditions. Developed in the 1970s, it combines PTFE’s inherent chemical resistance with enhanced breathability and flexibility due to its unique fibrillated matrix. The material’s porosity can be precisely engineered, with pore sizes ranging from 0.1 to 30 micrometers.
