Overview
Emulsion PTFE is a colloidal dispersion of polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) particles in water, stabilized by surfactants. It is a versatile material known for its exceptional chemical inertness, thermal stability, and low friction properties. The emulsion form allows for easy application in coatings and impregnation processes, making it a preferred choice in industries requiring non-stick or corrosion-resistant surfaces. Emulsion PTFE should be stored in sealed containers at temperatures between 5°C and 30°C to prevent freezing or phase separation. Prolonged exposure to sunlight or high temperatures can destabilize the emulsion. During handling, use gloves and eye protection to avoid skin contact, and ensure adequate ventilation to minimize inhalation risks. If the emulsion dries, it forms a powdery residue that can be dispersed as airborne particles, requiring dust control measures.
