Bipolar Hall switches are electronic components that utilize the Hall effect to detect magnetic fields and provide a digital output signal. Unlike unipolar Hall switches that respond to only one magnetic polarity, bipolar versions react to both north and south poles, making them more versatile for various applications. Structure and Working Principle
The bipolar Hall switch contains three main components: a Hall element, amplifier circuitry, and a Schmitt trigger. When the magnetic flux density exceeds the operate point threshold (Bop), the output switches states. The output remains in this state until the flux density decreases below the release point (Brp). The difference between Bop and Brp creates hysteresis, preventing output oscillation near the switching threshold.

Bipolar Hall switches require minimal maintenance due to their solid-state construction. Precautions include avoiding exposure to strong electromagnetic interference, staying within specified voltage and current limits, and implementing proper ESD protection during handling.
